Today would have been John’s 28th birthday and we are so very grateful (and astonished really) for the flood of letters, emails, calls and donations to mark this heartbreaking and very special day.  John is definitely celebrating and we are sure probably wishing he could raise a few at McSurley’s.  Thank you one and all!

John’s trust was busy this past summer supporting 3 independent projects.

Danny Turken, a classmate of John’s at NYU, successfully fundraised on Kickstarter for her documentary on young female soccer players in South Africa.  Her film is titled “The Beautiful Game” and is in post production. We look forward to following the process of Danny’s film through completion and what we are sure will be many festival invitations!

Will Zullo completed photography on the “The Duck” – also funded through Kickstarter – and we know John would have loved the premise of this film.  Will is also in post production and has crafted an intriguing story line. His enthusiasm is compelling!

The trust also contributed to a web series being produced titled “The Other Kennedys” by James Coker and his partner Marshall Stratton.  It is really a clever concept!

We will provide links to these projects as they become available.  Bravo to these dedicated artists!  John is proud of you!

shieldsOur dear. dear friends, Frank, Lisette, Calista, Jonathan and Jameson Shields, visited Paris recently and lit candles for John at Notre Dame Cathedral and wrote in the “big white book” which is available for writing special thoughts to loved ones – or special wishes.  Thank you for thinking of John during your fantastic trip!
