ONLY CRIMINALS will screen on Sunday, July 10, 2011 at noon! Still working out the details but do hope we will be able to attend and host a dinner on Saturday or brunch on Sunday.
Booker High School VPA program has announced that Monday, May 23, 2011 is “John Lamensdorf Day” in appreciation for John’s trust’s contribution to the VPA program. Can’t wait to hear the guitar ensemble perform and see the video the film students have prepared. A wonderful way to say thank you.
We receive, and are grateful for, so many endearing comments on John’s website. Recently, we received this comment from a very proud parent and wanted to share it and also share the link to his son’s site.
“I am so inspired by you and what your son brought to the world in his short time. My son, Taylor Marvin, is on such a similar path, I thought I would share it with you. He is 16, AP everything, but has chosen music as his life’s love. He is a gifted songwriter, prolific guitarist, and wonderful son. For his Eagle Scout project, he is hosting a music concert with some of Denver’s top bands to donate all proceeds to the Blue Star Foundation, which offers musical instruments to kids with life threatening illnesses. If you would like, please enjoy more about him at www.taylormarvin.com. Again, you are the best in humanity and although we are deeply sorry for your loss, know that you have made an indelible impression on my family.”
We heard from Nick Burch of the GFC that Friday night’s kick-off party at the Bowery Hotel in NYC was really fun, well-attended and very productive. Thanks to friends and family who so kindly attended for us. Nck announced today that the GFC has received 116 entries (from all over the globe) for this years’ competition (5/13/11 – 5/15/11)! This is fantastic news! Can’t wait to view all of the films! And, Sanborn Studios has agreed to be a corporate sponsor allowing for critical industry contacts.
So very satisfying to see how our contribution is helping to expose so many filmmakers to the GFC!
