The John H. Lamensdorf Memorial Scholarship has been officially established at the New York Film Academy (NYFA)!  We are so grateful for the continuous flow of donations that make providing these valuable opportunities possible.  In the next week we will have a direct link from John’s website to the scholarship applications at the New York Film Academy and the National Guitar Workshop.

Brenna Peak, a high school student hailing from Maine, is the first recipient of the memorial scholarship at the NYFA. Brenna will attend a three week program in NYC and we look forward to hearing about her experience. We are thrilled for Brenna, a bright, hard-working and focused young woman.

Julie Stahl of Goldilocks Films writes:  John showed extreme intelligence, diligence and charisma.  He was admired by our staff as someone with amazing capability and maturity.  We often reference John to the interns we interview as a great example of achievement.  He left his mark on us and we are grateful that we had the opportunity to have been a part of his life.

Diego Ungaro, filmmaker, writes:  At the time I met John, he was interning at Goldilocks in NY.  Giving him the responsibility of editing my short film “Rice and Meat” was a bit of a risk for me because he didn’t have tons of experience back then, but he proved really quickly to be full of resources and creativity.  It turned out to be a wonderful experience.  John was very gifted and quick on his feet, and the editing came along very nicely.  I’m very proud of what we were able to achieve and grateful to have the opportunity to work with him.

Thanks to Julie and Diego.
